5. Subject to sections 2.4 and 6, a journeyman competency certificate, an apprentice competency certificate or an occupation competency certificate expires 1 year after its issuance or renewal.

Qualification for a shared activity may be renewed if it is proven, in the manner provided for by the Commission, that the holder has performed the shared activity for the number of hours indicated in Schedule E to the Regulation respecting the vocational training of the workforce in the construction industry (chapter R-20, r. 8) for that shared activity.

5. Subject to section 6, a journeyman competency certificate, an apprentice competency certificate or an occupation competency certificate expires 1 year after its issuance or renewal.

Furthermore, regarding the trade of crane operator, as of 1 March 1994, a journeyman competency certificate or an apprentice competency certificate can only be renewed if, in addition to the other conditions set out in the regulation, the holder has proven either that he has successfully completed the course “Utilisation sécuritaire des grues” given by the Québec School Boards, or passed the evaluation exam related to that course or that he has passed any other equivalent course given outside Québec.
